Belonging beyond the office: New toolkit to Support Inclusion in Hybrid and Remote Work

We are excited to share the launch of a practical toolkit designed to help organizations make hybrid and remote work (HRW) more inclusive. This resource is the result of the Erasmus+ funded ReWork Project, carried out by a consortium of European partners committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.

The toolkit was created for HR professionals, middle managers, SME leaders, and diversity & inclusion practitioners. Its main purpose is to ensure that hybrid and remote work arrangements do not create additional barriers for employees from underrepresented groups, and to provide actionable strategies for building more inclusive workplaces.

What the toolkit offers
The resource combines both theoretical insights and hands-on tools, making it a valuable guide for those shaping people practices in flexible work environments. It includes:

  • A structured framework with seven thematic sections, covering topics such as inclusive management in hybrid settings, preventing discrimination, HR policies, digital environments, communication practices, and team cohesion.
  • 35 fact sheets with practical advice and recommendations drawn from the expertise of the project partners.
  • 16 real-life case studies collected from stakeholders, highlighting concrete examples of inclusive initiatives in action.

Why it matters
As hybrid and remote work continue to grow, it is essential to recognize and address the risks of exclusion while fostering equal opportunities for all. This toolkit provides leaders with the knowledge and resources to create work environments where every employee feels supported and valued.
